The Smart Community Source initiative was developed by the NESI-SES (National Energy Solutions Institute-Smart Energy Source) Association in collaboration with Central Electric Cooperative and Oklahoma State University to foster collaboration that will serve as a catalyst for communities to plan and develop resources that help the community become smarter. A Smart Community Source development plan will serve as a road map for confronting challenges the community is facing and begin building a framework for a smarter future.
“Collaboration is imperative throughout each step of the process,” said David Swank, CEO of the NESI-SES Association. “We are honored to have these great community leaders working together to help transform Stillwater into a smart community of the future.”
The initiative will focus on four pillars which include: developing community leaders, community alliances and smart ecosystem, smart urban development and infrastructure, and quality of life. The purpose of the Leadership Council is to start building an ecosystem of alliances that can provide resources that enable communities to think bigger than the current capacity of the community. The entire Leadership Council will meet several times throughout the year including cluster meeting based of sectors of the community.
